7 Weeks to go!

We watched the Huskers win thankfully at our friends house who just had a baby boy Dec 8. He is pictured with me above. Poor guy didn't have any Husker gear so he had to wear a hawkeye jersey :) They actually live in Iowa so I guess it's normal...We look forward to our little boys having many play dates together in the future!

I'm so excited about this new year! So much to look forward to with a new child in our lives! I'll be working on my masters degree starting in June. It's all online and takes 19 months. In Nebraska you get paid about 5,000 more per year if you have a masters so as a teacher it's one way to go to make more $$$$ besides holding a part time job! My sister in Texas is getting married in July and I'm a bridesmaid so I'm very excited for that! I'm sure so much more will be happening but those are a few highlights that I am looking forward to!

How your baby's growing:This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.See what your baby looks like this week.
